TREATMENT

BASIVERTEBRAL NERVE ABLATION (INTRACEPT)

If you've been experiencing lower back pain for six months or more, and physical therapy hasn't helped, you might be a candidate for Intracept basivertebral nerve ablation. This is especially true if the cause of your pain remains unclear, or if you've been diagnosed with a disc issue but haven't seen improvement with treatments like physical therapy.

Vertebral endplate nerve dysfunction is often overlooked or misdiagnosed, and it's typically identified only by spine surgeons who specialize in this condition. While it can be seen on an MRI, it is sometimes missed by doctors because it's not widely recognized.

If you have chronic low back pain and answer "yes" to these three questions, you should be evaluated for vertebral endplate nerve dysfunction, which can be treated with Intracept:

  1. Have you had chronic low back pain for six months or more?

  2. Have you tried conservative treatments (like medication or physical therapy) for at least six months without lasting relief?

  3. Have you been told your pain is caused by a disc issue or an unknown source?
